UNCLE DWIGHT'S PRAYER, LYRICS
(by The Rev. Nancy Allison)

(0:04) O LORD GOD OF HOSTS,
(0:10) HEAR OUR PRAYER,
(0:14) AND STRETCH FORTH

(0:18) THINE ALMIGHTY ARM
(0:22) TO GUARD AND GUIDE

(0:25) THY (0:26) SERVANT RICHARD.

(0:33) PROTECT AND KEEP HIM

(0:38) WHEREVER HE MAY BE.
(0:43) MAKE HIM COURAGEOUS

(0:48) AMIDST THE PERILS OF HIS CALLING.

(0:57) HOLD DEAR TO HIS HEART OUR (1:01) PRECIOUS LOVE.

(1:05) FOR OUR PRAYERS GO WITH HIM,
(1:10) FOR OUR PRAYERS GO WITH HIM,
(1:15) FOR OUR PRAYERS GO WITH HIM,
(1:22) AND SURROUND HIM NIGHT AND DAY.

(1:34) IF IT IS THY WILL,
(1:39) BRING HIM BACK SAFE AND WHOLE

(1:45) TO OUR ARMS ONCE AGAIN
(1:52) THAT HE MAY LIVE AND PROSPER

(1:59) IN THIS GOOD SOUTH LAND.

(2:07) YET NEVER QUENCH WITHIN HIM

(2:14) THAT ADVENTUROUS SPIRIT,
(2:19) WHICH MAKES MEN SCORN,
(2:23) WHICH MAKES MEN SCORN,
(2:26) WHICH MAKES MEN SCORN

(2:29) THE WAY OF SAFETY,
(2:34) SO THAT THY WILL MAY BE DONE,
(2:43) AND YOUR PEACE MAY ONCE MORE

(2:50) BE ESTABLISHED ON THIS EARTH.

(3:01) AMEN, AMEN.
